Trump's lead over Biden in polls is forcing a shift in MSM opinion pieces. One NYT writer came up with a predictable angle. I'll paraphrase from memory:
"Since Trump is well known as a racist, sexist, homopobe it's puzzling how he could be leading Biden in the polls. Perhaps it's time that we realize the majority of voters in America these days are also racist, sexist, homophobes."
Makes perfect sense.

It will interesting to see if Desantis or Haley can be convinced to drop out a week or two before Iowa.
Combined they cannot beat Trump but they could probably make it appear competitive.
It's not a good plan but I'm not sure what they have left to try.

Too much ego and money wrapped up between Haley, DeSantis, and Chrispy Chreme to drop out of the race before Iowa. Even then, I don't think anyone can beat Trump one on one.
I believe all 3 of those names will stay in until after Iowa, Nevada, NH, and SC. If one of them manages to pull an upset victory, they'll push others to drop out and coalesce around them. If Trump wins all 4, I don't see how anyone can stop his momentum and that point and the primary will likely be finished, from a practical standpoint.
