Watched him play Ruston. Very good athlete. Threw 5 picks but had some big plays with his legs. Not seeing elite speed. Looked uninterested in contact on one of the interception returns. If he projects to be a db at LSU, I’ll be hopeful the coaches can figure out how to get him on the field.

What is elite speed? He is faster than most guys on the field. Ruston's players weren't running him down, their defense was just playing exactly where they needed to so they could be in a position to make a tackle.

The one where he was blocked by the defensive player?

Yeah not sure what you are talking about. He was easily the fastest player on the field. LCA wins the game if they run him more.

Bruh…. Post less. Kid is gonna break Brock Berlin’s record and is easily one of the most impressive kids in the state over the past few years. He’s a dawg too…

Yeah. The one where he ran 20 yards alongside the defender allowing him to hand screen him as the interceptor score.

Elite speed includes having the twitch and quickness and pull away speed to be an SEC db.

You're not wrong. He came across as a hyper explosive offense weapon, there is no denying that, but it's true he didn't show any fire in trying to take on anyone after his ints...that being said, he covered a country mile every possession offensively, he's probably told not to risk anything that might get him hurt.

Damn. Youre hating on a high school kid who has an LSU offer pretty hard huh?

And you don't see that? He'll have a learning curve at DB for sure, but questioning his speed or twitch is just sort of silly if you ask me.

LCA opened this season against 4 straight 5A schools. JuJuan will have over 600 yards rushing vs those schools in 4 games. That includes 77-yard TD runs vs Acadiana and and Jesuit. He eluded guys and then pulled away. In this game, he had at least 1 run over 40 yards (the exact stats are not out yet). He wasn't tackled by a guy who caught up with him but by someone who used the sideline and took a great angle, which is the earmark of a well-coached and disciplined team.

You might also note that he ran track in his first couple of years of high school at LCA, 200 & 400. If I recall correctly, he was 3rd in state as a freshman in one of those two and anchored the 4x400 relay to second in state (can't recall the year) and the 4x200 to a 1st in state.

I'm about 99.9% sure this is the case.

For nearly 25 years, dust has built up on one of the Louisiana High School Athletics Association’s (LHSAA) top individual records.

In 1999, quarterback Brock Berlin wrapped up a storied high school career at Evangel with 13,659 total yards on offense.

It was the most in Louisiana high school football history, and nobody has topped the mark since.

24 years later, Lafayette Christian Academy quarterback and LSU commitment Ju’Juan Johnson is making a run at knocking Berlin out of the top spot.

Tracking Ju’Juan Johnson’s path to the No. 1 spot
Johnson sits at 10,393 total yards after week two of the season, putting the four-star prospect 3,266 yards away from the record.

It might seem lofty, but it’s within reach. As a junior in 2022, Johnson led LCA to the state title game by finishing the year with 5,438 total yards.

Johnson has already accounted for 735 yards this season, and LCA has eight games left on the regular season schedule. If Johnson breaks the record during the regular season, it would take an average of 408 yards per game.

Not so fast my friend. It was 29 to 12 and Ruston went conservative in the 4th quarter. It almost cost them the game. Ruston should've won by 4 tds.

It’s wild that every school wants him to play there but some dude from Ruston just doesn’t see it lol

Tell me how many TDs their offense scored again. Without ill-advised passes by Johnson, LCA probably wins but like your statement (though not as outrageous IMO ) that is pure speculation. These were two very good teams.
