Golf between St. Louis and Columbia

We are planning to make the trip to the LSU Missouri game in early October. I thought it would be fun to fly in early on Friday and play a round on the way to Columbia. I've done minimal research on course options so far, but I did see a one cool looking course called Missouri Bluffs.
I was curious if anyone has experience in the area, and are there any must play courses on the route?

I dont know of anything personally along that route but south of Columbia is Eagle Knoll. I have never played it but back when I was in college 20+ years ago, it was regularly rated one of the top courses in MO.

Played Sun Valley in Elsberry. It was nice.

Closest I've played is Old Kinderhook near Lake of the Ozarks. It is nice, but not on your way from St Louis to Columbia.
