The Semovente da 75/18 was an Italian self-propelled gun of the Second World War. It was built by mounting the 75 mm Obice da 75/18 modello 34 mountain gun on the chassis of a M13/40, M14/41 or M15/42 tank.[2] The first 60 were built using the M13/40 chassis and a subsequent 162 were built on the M14/41 chassis from 1941 to 1943. [4] A total of 190 were built utilizing the M42 chassis before the armistice and an additional 55 were built afterwards. [5] The Semovente da 75/18 was intended to be an interim vehicle until the heavier P40 tank could be available.

Thanks. Not sure why, but I’ve always been drawn to building the lesser known vehicles and aircraft of WWII.

Yes. That’s how I usually paint and how I did this one. Sometimes if I have to paint a straight line, I’ll use masking. But usually I freehand with brushes.

Nice job on the paint scheme, Darth.

The suspension is basically the same design the Italians used on all their tracked vehicles.

Thanks. I don’t have the Sd.kfz 2. I’m not sure if anyone makes a kit for it.

Found this Hasegawa kit. Looks small and fun and I need it to tow a seaplane.

You should buy it. I’ve done a couple of float planes over the years.

I love learning about the lesser known vehicles of the war, especially those from the secondary powers.

With all your WWII model work, are you familiar with the game Bolt Action?

It’s one of my favorite subject matters. We always hear about the vehicles and planes of the major powers. It’s hard to find anything on the lesser powers like Italy, Poland, and Romania for example.
