Best QB in Louisiana CFB this season?

While Joe Burrow rightfully garnered all the headlines last season, Levi Lewis of ULL had his own record-breaking year as he became the first ULL QB to throw for over 3000 yards and set the single season TD record for the Cajuns as well. He did all this while leading ULL to their best season in years as they finished 11-3. Do you think Lewis will be able to significantly improve on his production from last season (assuming football is played this year)? How do you think he compares to the other LA CFB QBs?

Probably wouldn’t have those numbers in the SEC but still extremely impressive. Great player for the junior college in the West.

Probably not with ULL
But 3k yards (especially playing 14 games) isn’t an incredible statistic anymore
Jake Bentley has over that in 2018

People laugh, but he really is a good QB.
Funny thing is, before Joe Burrow, Levi would have been the best QB LSU has had in 10 years had he been on their team

Those are rookie numbers for quarterbacks in Ruston.

There’s no way to compare these two. Opponents couldn’t be more different. Same offense against same defense with LSU’s third or fourth string QB would’ve had much better numbers. Nothing wrong with you being a fan of ULL And Lewis but comparing the two isn’t right.

Throwing for 217 a game and less than 2 TDs a game does not warrant inclusion in any sort of conversation about who is "best".
Obviously those are really good numbers for ULL, but the only reason he might be the best in LA in 2020 is because he's the only returning starter at any of the 5 FBS schools.
Now, all that said, very few (if anyone) thought Burrow would win the Heisman going into 2019, so who knows? Levi could very well come out and put up some gawdy numbers this year.

People won't be impressed by the yards but we were a run 1st and 2nd team last year with 3 SEC caliber runningbacks on our team. Next year we'll have Ragas and Mitchell back so I imagine we'll run our asses off again.
Levi was really good though, especially the second half of the year.

You think he’s better than Mettenberger?

Loved watching him at Scotlandville I hope he has a great season.

False Anthony Jennings was terrible there.

Mett wasn’t good
Mettenberger led an offense that had over 3000 yard passing, 2 1000 yard receivers and a running back with 1200+ yards rushing so he was better than good. The Achilles heel of that team was a young and inexperienced defense.
That being said, I hope Lewis has a good season. If he has a decent receiving corp and a line that can protect him, he should.
QBs get a lot of credit, but without those two, it won’t happen.
(See LSU ‘19 for proof)
