If Texas was in the SEC this year instead of next year, Bama would not have made it in.

Probably correct. But when 12 teams come around, the SEC deserves 4 teams in almost every year.

Texas would have been a 9-3 team with an sec schedule and they wouldn’t even be in the discussion
