Every year I take a trip to BR to see a game with my grandfather and father in tiger stadium. I stay with my grandfather. I don’t go tailgating, this year I’m looking to experience some of this food people rave about. Any recommendations?

Go to Chimes. Get beers/drinks, and then get stuff there. THey have alligator bites, crawfish fries, and anything you would want most likely. It will be crowded so plan accordingly.

I love the Chimes, especially for the blackened alligator app.

Louie’s is a solid diner for late night or breakfast eats. Burger is good, too.

Raul’s is the best burger near campus, and arguably the best one in town. Try the one with grilled shrimp on it.

For stuff farther from campus, I recommend Elsie’s Plate & Pie for a somewhat unique cajun experience, the Stockyard Cafe or Bellue’s for a great soul food plate lunch, or one of the following for a little higher class seafood experience: Mansur’s, Drago’s (chargrilled oysters), or Louisiana Lagniappe (arguably the best restaurant in town).

For an actual nice meal I’d recommend going somewhere Friday night. Expect a long wait. Don’t try to eat on Gameday for two reasons. It’ll be utter chaos and you don’t want to eat a bunch of heavy grub then walk out in that heat
