From someone directly involved in the situation, the player did have movement in his hands and legs after the injury and he is expected to make a full recovery

Rumor I heard is he couldnt feel or move anything below waist and broke/injured C6/C7. Say a prayer for the young man

It’s a nice message they released but they needed to provide more info on the actual injury because we are all wondering

The second half is when linebacker Jaquavis Richmond collided with another player, ultimately suffering a head and neck injury. Dr. Trayvean Scott, vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics, gave a hopeful update on the sophomore, saying a recent surgery has given him feeling back in all extremities.
