While much is being made of how similar LSU and Florida State are at the qb spot and other positions, mirror images some say, the same cant be said of the respective head coaches. Kelly is 273-100-2 over his career, Norvell is 56-31. Norvell has actually been average at best at Florida State, with an 11-13 conference record.

But it’s players that win games, not coaches, right? Well yes, obviously, a coach cant catch the ball for a player. But if it’s just players that decide games, why did we pay Kelly 95 mil?

We paid him that because he has won 273 games. Kelly should be graded in apples to apples games, games among teams with comparable resources and talent. LSU vs Florida State is an apples to apples match.

The team with the best coach should win this game. Bum Phillips used to say a great coach is one who could take mine and beat yorn and then take yorn and beat mine.

LSU has the coaching advantage. That should be the difference in close games. Thats why they get the big bucks.

Kelly is 2-1 vs Norvel. Beat him twice at ND and lost his first game at LSU. Kelly will be 3-1 vs Norvel after tomorrow night.

Don’t know much about Norvell, but the interviews I’ve heard recently do not impress.

Been saying this all week. Everybody's been focusing on the players & match-ups, and conveniently discarding the massive coaching advantage that we have. What Kelly did with a piece-mealed team last year is one of the greatest coaching jobs that I've ever seen. If Sonny Dykes doesn't go HAM, Kelly would have been a shoo-in for COY. Give Norvell that team & he's probably 4-8.
