Checking in from Germany.

I wasn’t able to watch the game last night. I watched the highlights, seems JD really progressed with his pocket awareness. Currently stationed in Germany so the time zones are out of wack. But if y’all could fill me in on what y’all saw would be appreciated hooah!

I was in Berlin yesterday and waking up in Aarhus Denmark reading as much as I can from the win and other games.

I had to do a detail at 0500 this morning. Definitely couldn’t stay up to watch. I’m in grafenwoehr. I’m definitely going to Berlin in the next month or so.

Thank you both for your service. You are correct. JD looked good tonight. Somewhat soft opponent, but that’s beside the point. He stayed in the pocket and threw the ball with confidence for the most part. The offensive scheme was uptempo and designed to get the ball out quick and he executed it very well. Nuss came in for a quarter and a half and looked good too. The defense swarmed all night. Only allowed two first downs. Ignore the negative posts on this board from the night. Progress was made on both sides of the ball and tonight was possibly the springboard this team needed to find a rhythm and get things going. We’ll see how they do in their first road test of the year this week at Auburn. But, overall I feel much better about this team and JD , in particular, than I did before tonight.

And yes, Daniel's keeps getting better. They focused on having him make short, quick passes and looking past his first read if it wasn't available. He stayed in the pocket much longer and only scrambled a few times.
New Mexico had a decent, hard-nose defense but obviously nothing like what is coming in the SEC. The question is still "will the o-line hold up enough not to get him killed". I'm skeptical, but much more optimistic than I was 3 weeks ago.

My pleasure! I’m glad to see them throw in more quick routes. I seen JD throw a bomb to Hilton. Our running game seems more improved as well. Thank you. It’s so hard to keep up with the time here. I try to stay in the loop as much as I can. Cause I’m a die hard LSU fan. On another note man I definitely miss the food back home..

No thanks to BiggieBam for his service. I’m over the pond for a month’s vacation.

Lol my bad. I read his first two posts like it was two different people. Well, enjoy your trip anyway.

Thank you for your service.
Offense stretched the field on a couple throws. We need more intermediate throws is 10-15 yds to really churn IMO. The short passes were great because their DBs played off the ball. In press, can our guys beat their opponents? We can’t have 7-8 man boxes and win in the SEC.
It was a step forward for sure.
On defense, NM whole offense relies on beating you through eye discipline. If you don’t stay disciplined they will gash you via triple option. LSU was too fast and really tackled well. There wasn’t much of a threat to pass so they were able to allow DBs to crash for run support.
IMO this team is still a 5-7 win team. Nothing wrong with that considering the limitations in the defensive backfield, Oline and QB.
I added QB because running and short passes will end up making the offense one dimensional. I’m loading the box until he can prove he can consistently beat me past 10 yds.
