No one has ever thought of this. Ever.

SEC might as well give up on ACC schools coming. The ACC has really circled the wagons and schools don't just leave conferences for no reason.

BC, Miami, and VT bolted the Big East for the ACC for basically no reason other than the join the ACC.

No other reason? There has been huge divide in the Big East for two years because of the basketball/football school divide and their interest. When they turned down ESPN's offer (and it was low) they decided the Big East was just not the best conference to be a part of as a football school. You really think there was nothing wrong with the Big East?

Hell there's rumor of SMU to the SEC, so why the frick not?

UNC would basically rather burn their campus down than join the SEC. That would be a good start as to why not.

uhhh, no.
they joined a more stable conference, added a CCG, and started making more money.

back to the thought in the OP....

i'm a unc student, i would love to join the SEC, but there are too many old folks who wouldnt ever let this happen for multiple reasons
1) history with the ACC
2) rivalries with the other "big 4" NC schools in all sports
3) they like the idea of being in an academic conference and view SEC as not caring about academics

What does duke offer the sec? It is a tiny little private school.

The OP might as well say "Why not Notre Dame?".
