Because Texas is telling them what a bad idea it is. Seriously, with friends like these, A&M doesn't need enemies. BTW - for an insight into Texas arrogance, please read the comment section. It is the height of unintentional comedy.

Texas doesn't want to go the SEC for one reason now: because it'll look like A&M made the decision. And Texas doesn't view A&M like an equal partner. A&M going to the SEC is a disaster for Texas, ESPECIALLY if Texas follows.

Agreed. UT is not going to the Big Ten. It would be a dumb move. They never play the Big Ten teams, save Ohio State two times, and the bad taste it would leave in a lot of alumni's mouths is not worth the extra TV revenue.
