Why does this whole conference expansion thing feels like a WWF/WCW storyline?

I am thinking SEC = WWF , ACC/Big East/ Pac 12= WCW and the Big 12= nWo.

Of course baylor would be the X-pac or 123 Kid whatever he called himself.

It like 1996 all over again.
