If Notre Dame would have just joined the Big 10, would everything else had stayed the same? Why does everyone want out of the Big 12? I can't see this doing anything but hurting all sports except for football. Baseball, track, gymnastics, golf, etc. are all going to have a hard time traveling from Austin, Texas to Pullman, Washington for a conference matchup. How do you think this will effect attendance at all of these games, including football?

I just don't see why the conferences had to go from 10 to 16 teams. 12 is a good number.

Thanks for that in depth response. So Texas and Oklahoma weren't making enough money in the Big 12? They were dominating that league. That's a lot of money to be sending all of your athletic programs 1/2 way across the country for conference matches. I'm sure the tennis matchup between Stanford and Oklahoma State is going to cost quite a dent in those programs budget.

Attendance will not suffer... this has been raised a lot on this board and I just cant see how attendance, especially football would suffer.

You don't get to the top by being complacent, why should you get complacent once you're at the top? If there's more money to be made, you should try to make it.

Because the big 12 would not split the money fairly among its members. I do not like them splitting up but u can't blame those schools for wanting to leave an unfair situation!
