They have leverage over UT, right now.

lol no way in hell. The Texas gov would go ballistic. Poof they lose the 5 billion PUF fund.
A&M just now rejected the SEC out of fear.
The fans did lose. but the UT adam won

IMO, this is only the beginning.
still though, I wish the Board did not delay what will be the inevitable demise of this conference in 5-7 years.

you all lose. Hope you do not plan on winning another National Championship this decade?

I'd liken it to the TexAgs comment that the Aggie fans got blue-balled.
I was hoping for aTm to the SEC, but wouldn't believe it til I saw it. Oh well, Texas owns the conference, and every school in it, now.
Too bad, Ags. We'd love to have had you, and you'd have been right at home.

how? we also made it so they cant go to the SEC. Plus deloss gets what he always wanted
Spin it how you like to make yourself feel good but you got punked. The SEC pretty much blocked your move to the Pac 16. Time to unpack those suitcases.

you will only get there because you play a pansy arse schedule in a watered down bigX

Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin issued this statement on conference affiliation:
"Texas A&M is a proud member of the Big 12 Conference and will continue to be affiliated with the conference in the future. As Athletics Director Bill Byrne and I have stated on numerous occasions, our hope and desire was for the Big 12 to continue. We are committed to the Big 12 and its success today and into the future."

You guys would be in the Pac, except that you got totally fricking owned by Texas A&M

The possibility of A&M bolting to the SEC, is the SOLE REASON the Big-Whatever is still together.
....which allowed Texas to get what they wanted. Now that they have it, A&M can threaten all they want. The Aggies attention whore tactic paved the way.
With the addition of the network, which they could not do in the Pac10, they'll pick up an add'l $5M to the $17-20m in TV money. When they do leave, any conference will have to allow their network. Texas wins no matter what happens and they owe it all to A&M.
Bottom line, they get a lot richer and scored political points.

your just mad because we rejected the SEC

And this amazes me, since they have downgraded their conference and lost some of it's appeal with the loss of Nebraska.

quote:My understanding, is that was in the Pac package. It was the B12 that was telling them they couldn't.

They only agreed to come back to the B12 when they got assurances for their vanity network, and that A&M wouldn't bail on them.
If not for A&M, UT would be a part of the Pac. The Horns got skeert.

It stunned everyone. There had to be some competition between Fox Cable and ESPN to cause them to pony up the $$$.
In a couple of years when Dish and Direct and cable companies package the LSN in SEC markets...Roaad will go nuts.

ATM had the balls to:
Not do what UT did;
Actually flip to a superior conference....this is worth a lot of points to me;
I have a new found respect for the Ags.
By the way, Colorado jumped to a conference with 10pm est kickoffs. Is that going to work for them?
And is there any consistency to Nebraska's rivalries and geography?

Would the Texas Governor, Rick Perry, allow for his alma mater, A&M, to be squeezed by UT?
UT is a bunch of pussies that will only play if the schedule is lined up for them to succeed. No way in hell would UT lose less than 3 games per season in the SEC.
They knew that and SEC version of A&M would start recruiting and competing better. That would weaken UT's program. A&M would be stronger in baseball as well.
Hey, at least they got rid of Nebraska who nearly beat them in the CCG. Now, they just won't have a CCG.
Too bad the baseball team had to play TCU
UT does not fare well against the purple!

I'll evaluate this ****ty outcome in 2 weeks and if I am still this pissed my ring goes on ebay. I am embarrassed to say that I went to "Texas A&M beotch of tu". The BOR has ruined my school.
Should have gone to tceh and gotten a 4.0, multiple incurable STDs and then bought some disappointed Ags ring. There should be a lot of them for sale.
Wow. It reminds me of the Rant after the Ole Miss game.
