No way A&M comes without UT. That was blocked by the Texas legislature before and it will be blocked again.

TAMU is highly interested in the SEC. OU is the key. If OU goes with TAMU to the SEC, then that will force UT's hand.

This is not the old days. Rick Perry is a TAMU grad and UT can not force TAMU to do something it doesn't want to do.

I suppose this could be where we'd find out just how powerful the University of Texas actually is.

Apparently not as powerful as USC....just ask Kiffykins. His interview yesterday was hilarious.

This should be the number one plan IMO

A&M, Arkansas, Missouri, LSU
Ole Miss, State, Alabama, Auburn
Kentucky, Vandy, Tennessee, Va Tech
SC, Georgia, Florida, +1

Alabama and Auburn won't be moved East if this plan works.

I think this is hilarious the power has been taken away from Texas from where they want to go. It looks like OU dictates where Texas goes now.

exactly. They and TAMU would like to put a dent in the proposed Longhorn network revenue stream also, although you'll never see that in print. I should find out later today what OU is thinking.

I got some detailed information on this that is pretty sensitive. I sent it to a couple people on here through Scout.com. I do know that to be false. Also, I can say that UT right now has zero interest in joining the SEC and wants nothing to do with the Birmingham offices. OU is the key to any SEC expansion, because TAMU needs to find at least one Western partner. The SEC has a backup plan though if they decide they want TAMU anyway without UT or OU, as they will go after two eastern teams and Mizzou.

Good plan for the SEC.

Maybe it shouldn't be a 8&8 plan but a 4x4.

If only the Big 12 comish and friends called Bluff on these arse holes earlier...

It was just a matter of time before A&M and OU reality checked them...I wouldn't count out the delusional pride the UT board of reagents has, which they have showcased several times before...and it is impressive.

Agreed. I think UNC is clearly the best choice behind OU and TAMU. Better than Mizzou, FSU, VT or Clemson.

I don't get the people clamoring for FSU, GT, and Miami. Those schools add nothing to the SEC.

UNC probably wouldn't come without Duke. Too much history and tradition between those schools to break up a conference rivalry.

I think some of that info came from that meeting. My friend has a contact within the UT athletic department and that's where all that info came from and some more that I am holding back. He has another contact that is good friends with the ole cheater, Barry Switzer and I am looking forward to that update.

VT

I wouldn't mind VT. Blacksberg would be a classic SEC venue. They would fit in well. For me.

1st Tier
OU
aTm

Second
UNC

Third
FSU
VT

Fourth
Miami
Clemson

Fifth
GT

I will tell you that I would be shocked if the Big 12 survives, but my friend thinks it will, and that all of this will be for nothing in the end. It will end with Nebraska, and UT trying to help the current Big 12 to find replacements for them and Colorado.

I somewhat agree, but you wave SEC TV deals in front of their face, and they might change their mind. AND they can always play Duke OOC in basketball, enough games to do that.

They have a great athletic dept., strong in a lot of sports. It's a new state market for the SEC in a growing area of the country. Part of the research triangle. It would be a "prestige and academic" move, as well as a smart financial one.

You mean like Texas and aTm or Texas and OU?

The only reason they won't come is because of Basketball. The SEC blows. I don't know if UNC and Duke will make the commitment to football that is needed.

Maybe Texas could convince La Tech and Ulala to keep the Big 12 afloat.
