Tulane can't win 5 games in a season in the C-USA. They will go DEFEATED in the big east conference play for years.
Do yourself a favor, go down to NO and watch a tulane game, it is absolutely priceless to see how many people go to the games.
Still $7 beers.

Yea, but Louisville proper is bigger than NO proper by about 400k. Not that it matters all that much when it comes to markets but...

pretty irrelevant. Maybe Tulane can weasel into the Big 12

Toledo isn't bringing that program anywhere good.

It's small minded thinking by people that can't grasp the consequences of what would happen if Tulane, or ULL, actually did drop down.

It would save the state a lot of money if ULL dropped down we (the taxpayers) subsidize the other public DIV I programs. For what reason?

that's where you are clueless...

Toledo has gotten more Louisiana and New Orleans kids to Tulane in the last three years than probably the 20 years before it....the talent level (for who they are) is much much improved

Tulane needs to drop down to Division III. They get less than 1000 fans in attendance. Division I requires 30k I think.

This.
TU football is a farce.

Tulane will have to face reality at some point. D-1 attendence requirements were waived after Katrina. Won't last forever.
Unless they step up & build a stadium on campus, Tulane is destined to land in 1AA or D-2.

Actually the minimum is 15k in attendance. There used to be a requirement of a stadium with capacity of 30k but that was dropped.

Nevertheless, Tulane either fudges the numbers or has boosters who buy up a bucketload of tickets so they can meet the criteria.

You can go to a Tulane game and easily count the number of fans in the seats. Honestly, I'd say between 500 and 1000.

They seriously need to drop to a lower division. They're not competitive and they have no fans.

Reality: current lame duck staff is a disfunctional family. HC is taking the payday before retiring to CA. All but one assistant was looking for a way out in the summer. OC left for a high school job cause HC is going old school and doing it his way.
Get ready for a new staff & yet another new beginning at TU next year. Wasn't to long ago there was talk of dropping football. That may be the best course of action. Cut the loses & run or step down a division or two.
