Also helped that OU went and skulldrug Texas Tech who was undefeated at the time. The polls screwed you guys just as much as the computers.

Texas was still #1 in the poll after OU slaughtered Tech. It was our huge victory against A&M which dropped us to #3.

...and thats part of whats called THE WHOLE SEASON.
Obviously WV was not good enough, or they would have won and moved on...

How about I wait 'til they're #1, lose to Arky in the last regular season game, and go on to win the NC?

This ain't the SWC/B12/P10, pal...

...it's the SEC.

Right....

And in 2006 and 2007? (remember losing to the fraud we fired!)

Everybody looks at today as if it has always been and always will be.

This thing has gone in cycles since A&M came out of the dark ages in the mid 70s. (Women and Corps not mandatory - Thank you Earl Rudder!)

A&M 18 - tu 17 over the last 35 years (And tu had to win 8 of the last 10 to get it close to even.)

With Brown, you've been on a great run. He's a good coach and one of the best recruiters ever.

Enjoy it. Time passes, seasons change.

Didn't A&M beat Texas 2 years in a row recently? Seems like you had a couple of close calls after that. Typical Texass arrogance again.

I was talking about games that we won and which still hurt us in the BCS polls.

I can assure you that when A&M beat us, their BCS ranking improved.

Deep down, you guys know Texas has a damn good program and can play with anyone.

There are some rantards who will try to get a rise by disagreeing, but that is just part of "ranting".

Everyone realizes your point. UT is a great school and a great football program with an admirable fan base, but only about 1/3 of the fans in UT's stadium are hard core football fans, whereas it is probably 2/3rds or more at SEC venues

The SEC folks have enough arrogance with Ole Miss folks thinking their academics and culture are more refined than the others, and adding Tea Sippers is not something that is wanted in SEC country. It just isn't wanted.

It has nothing to do with UT being a great program or a great school, it is about attitude and the level of fanaticism of the average UT fan. There are some awesome UT fans, but some of the folks in the stands might be heard calling for double dribble during a goal line stance. Many go because "of course I am a UT football fan, this is Texas", and by that I mean it is a culturally-expected event.

In the SEC, it is that also PLUS it is something the people really want and choose to do independent of whether it is the "thing to say you did" at a Austin pub after the game.

Anyone can look up the academic standards of UT and see that it is a really good overall school and football program. No argument about that, but don't come and try to convince folks that all the UT players are stout academically, because that is as big as a pile of dump behind Bevo.

Can you name one positive A&M cycle over the last 35 years that didn't end with a major NCAA violation.....no, you can't.

Look........all the best A&M. Go have fun in the SEC and ruin another school's BCS dreams with your suckage.

Keep spinnning it...if playing weak conference brethren has so badly hurt UT, why are they moving to a conference with less strength, rather than more?

We both beat OU by 10 that year, it would have been a great game.

I've never seen so much crying in my whole life. The SEC'ers are pissed that anyone has the temerity to not join their elite conference.

Texas doesn't want to play in your backyard, don't hate, just accept it. We will see y'all down the road in BCS games and let the better team win. In the mean time, try to unbunch your panties and get over it. It's unbecoming of the "SEC SEC SEC" to act like a bunch of school girls.

The PAC 16 will be much stronger than the Big 12.

roody, in all fairness, for all of the respect the SEC has around the nation, none of it has anything to do with Arkansas. You should probably sit this one out.
