This was destined to happen when unequal revenue sharing agreements were approved.
If you want to be in a conference, you should act like it with every school getting equal footing from conference wide revenue.
Unfortunately this situation will never be better with CU and Nebraska leaving. That conference can only pray that another school gets big in the next few decades.
TCU
UH
New Mexico
Rice
SMU
Not many good choices

They could add Memphis and get an extra 10 mil.

I guess my point was that they would only have 135 million per year with the realistic numbers. They were estimating much higher than that, like maybe 30-50 million more than what what it would create in reality.
Bingo... I think outside forces are providing some financial backing to kick it up to $165M.

This.
Tech has no money, no tradition, no people in its TV market (148th overall). Tech is third-tier institution according to the latest US News and World Report rankings and has a third-tier law school. And besides that, the campus isn't anything to look at. The most notable thing on campus is a horse whose butt faces towards UT.
Tech had nothing to add to this process. It was just happy to be in the mix and not sitting on the sidelines with Baylor praying for a miracle.
My guess, the BOR were discussing the Leach lawsuit.
