This is who i think should join the BIG 12. It would make sense TCU always bitches about not getting into a BCS bowl( Not to mention they are becoming somewhat a football powerhouse) and Houston is a pretty good school when it come to Athletics. What do you guys think?

Best I can tell I don't think Conference Texas Longhorns wants 12 teams. Lets see, UT will make more money (so they say), only have one real tough game (OU/Texas Game), get their own tv network and they wont have to fool with a conference championship so now UT's road is that much easier to make it to the NC game. I'm thinking Texas just wants themselves and 9 other teams in their conference. TCU and Houston would be fine if you kicked Oklahoma and Oklahoma State into the north division. I also think Louisville and Cincy might be decent replacements. Colorado is not that hard to replace to me but replacing Nebraska is a tough one. Still the same, I don't think UT will bring in two other teams.

10 teams means no Conference CG which is what UT and OU wanted .

They would have to ask Papa Bevo before they do anything.

Would make the divisions more even. Move OU and OSU to the Big 12 North and bring in Houston and TCU into the new "Big 12 South" or "Big 12 Texas" division.

TCU has a stadium that holds around 40K and they rarely fill it. UH is a commuter school with zero atmosphere with a crap-hole for a stadium.Hardly an ideal canidate.

They're expanding it right now; when finished, it will be slightly bigger than Texas Tech's stadium fyi. Also, they'll have no problem filling their stadium when they have a Big 12 schedule. There's a big difference between AF/BYU/WY/SDSU and UT/TT/Mizz/KSU.

The Big 12 is all about money, TCU and Houston do not have anything to offer, as far new TV Markets and that's what's driving all this expansion talk.

Where does everyone get the idea that a 12 team conference must have a championship game? The NCAA doesn't force any conference to play a CG.

they won't be asked to join because the conference isn't going to exist in 3 years.

Well, at least UH was a member of the SWC back in the day......Andre' Ware's last couple of seasons were very respectable.

TCU and Houston were both part of the SWC. UT and Okla would be playing twice most years if they had a CG now

No one seems to mention that without the conference championship game they may not have the strength of schedule to jump a one loss sec champion or now a PAC 12 champion or big ten champion who will all now be playing a championship game that could help them jump an idle ou or ut team

Bold prediction for a team that's had 3 sellouts in the past 26 years.

quote:

Amon G. Carter Stadium most recently sold out for the November 14th, 2009 TCU vs. Utah game. The previous sell-out came on September 16, 2006 when TCU defeated Texas Tech 12–3, and prior to that was on November 17, 1984, when the 12th-ranked TCU fell to 10th-ranked Texas

I don't care what that conference decides but I have thought all along that their real objective was to resurrect something similar to the old SWC.

It wouldn't hurt, but I don't know where they stand politically in regard to that happening.
