Really think the SEC should pull the plug

All of this posturing by Mizzou has to come to an end; it's making the conference look bad.
The tail is wagging the dog! Pull the plug on Mizzou and move on.

Memphis. I mean, they deserve it.

Don't believe you are serious but really if the SEC caved and went after a school inside an SEC state I think before Memphis there are better options.
Georgia Tech, Florida State, Miami, Clemson, Louisville

I wrote a thread last week that Missouri was playing the SEC for fools. Enough somebody make a decision and live with it.

I believe the plug may have been pulled on Mizzou. Slive and the TV suits want Mizzou bad - not because they are worth a crap at FB - that doesn't matter. It doesn't even matter than no one would watch Mizzou on TV - they wouldn't. The whole issue is this: How many cable subscriber households can we add the sports package, which includes the coming SEC network, along with other sports stations, for $7.99 a month.
Yep - this is what it's come down to boys - to hell with whether the teams suk, or the fans even care - Better take Mizzou before Slive and the suits want to add Temple, FIU or CCNY (think of all those NYC cable packages!!! $$$!!)

The obvious answer is WVU.
They want to come in and I think it's time to invite them.

If it was all about TVs then Rutgers would be invited (Wow LSU playing near me!)
Hey CCNY played LSU in basketball in the 70s in the Assembly Center

Shhhhhhhh - not too loud - Slive and suits might hear you.

Rutgers would wet their pants. They are begging to get into the Big Ten or ACC

I was going to look up a time line of our move from the Big 12 to the SEC. Someone on tigerboard.com saved me the time, so I'll copy and paste their post instead.
----------------------------------
August 15, A&M Board of Regents votes to authorize President Bowen Loftin to explore conference affiliation for the university.
August 25, A&M asks the Big XII for detailed procedures for leaving the conference.
August 30, A&M notifies the Big XII that they plan to leave the conference, contingent on acceptance to another athletic conference.
All of this was done *BEFORE* there was any hint of lawsuit threats from Baylor, and done at a time when most folks figured that A&M was gone and everything was just a procedural fait accompli.
To compare then:
Tuesday, October 4: Mizzou authorized Chancellor Brady Deaton to explore their future conference affiliation.
Tomorrow will be 7 days.

Posturing? Again stop following planted stories. An article just came out exposing ESPN's involvement with the ACC. Nothing will happen until we withdraw from the Big XII. That wont happen until we are promised we have the votes. When the problems are worked out we will have movement.

You are talking about 100 year commitment here. If anything, you want everyone to settle down, get the emotions out of the way and make the best choice.

I guess you're right.

You're more delusional than I thought!

I think it's pretty obvious that our clearest and best path is to go ahead and move to 20 teams by adding Memphis, USM, Tulane, Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky, Central Florida and Troy.

The SEC should wait and play with 13 until another team comes along. The big ten played with 11 teams for over a decade. The MAC now has 13 teams.
Once you get past 9-10 members in a conference it's very unlikely that everyone will play everyone.
13 still means a SECCG and more tv money with A&M.
The SEC for decades had 12 members and only had a 6 or 7 game SEC schedule. Until the early 90s you routinely had 7 SEC games. I remember Spurrier was against an 8th SEC game.
