And this begs the question: if there is that much money to be made by means of AAU membership / combined research funding power within a single conference, why aren't the other conferences at least trying to implement a similar strategy through conference expansion to expand their cash potential? The Big variable will always be far ahead of the schools in the other conferences with this advantage.
