Makes a hell a lot of sense when you think of it.

Of course you would... you only have to drive two hours to get there. It's a big home field advantage.
Do LSU fans not travel? The ticket allotment is split evenly; if anyone has home field advantage, that can only be blamed on the fans that won't buy tickets.
And I must admit it's pretty humorous to see LSU fans complaining about home field advantage- when both of LSU's BCS titles were won in the Super Dome, with perhaps a 3rd this year. Do you really need the SECCG too?

A certain amount of tix are split evenly. They don't take every seat and split it evenly.
To say its not an advantage is BS, and Ark/LSU get screwed by it. Truth

A lot of fans (outside of LSU) don't want to play in New Orleans twice in less than a months. And that's waht would probably happen if you win the SECCG.
Yeah, but if you lose the SECCG, your chances are good of coming right back to ATL for the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
Viva NOLA for the SECCG! The West is the power side of the conference now!

I agree, but I don't think it makes sense to host the SEC CCG and Sugar Bowl in the same city
I hear what your saying, but I don't think it is that big a deal.
1 It would only happen every few years.
2 If you ask all fans of SEC teams if they had a choice of going to N.O. for the Sugar and SECCG vs. N.O. then Atlanta/Dallas I bet a large number wouldn't mind coming twice.
I don't like the idea by another poster of alternating the Sugar Bowl to Atl if when N.O. hosts the SECCG because I want the revenue spread out to different states with in the conference.

Miami weather not as much of an issue
Tampa just tossing that out there because someone mentioned Orland and their turf sucks.
Jacksonville nice town but your starting to get into possible weather issues.

Actually, I live in Virginia. Of the locations under discussion Nashville is the closest to me.
And that is pretty funny that an LSU fan talking about another team's home field advantage. Sugar Bowl is pretty darn close to Baton Rouge.
IMO Birmingham is the most central location (and was obviously the original SECCG location), but Legion Field is just terrible, and B'ham is a pretty boring place to go for a big event.

let Atl host the Sugar Bowl
This must be the youngsters thread on this topic that has been discussed numerous times or it would have blown up on page 1.
Sugar has been a NO bowl for 75+ years. Hell, lets rotate the Rose Bowl with Phoenix or the Orange Bowl with Orlando!
Isn't realignment enough for you dummies? !

SECG should rotate. NOLA, Houston, St. Louis, and KC should all get a chance to host it.
And if Atlanta wants to host the ACCCG instead, let them. No big loss.

Why not rotate between all the SEC teams home stadiums? Just make a rule that if either SECCG team is slated to host, their stadium is bypassed and the next in the line is used.
We'd save money on stadium rentals.

The only way the SEC Championship would be in Texas would be at Reliant. The LAST thing we need is putting Jerry Jones' fecal touch on it.

I don't see it leaving Atl anytime soon. Atl does a good job hosting it, "getting to Atlanta" is a mantra of every SEC team now, and Atl is about as centrally located as any site with a lot of entertainment and plenty of hotels.
If it rotated, the sites to consider would be:
Atl
NOLA
Houston
That is about it. Miami would make the best trip out of any possible location with perfect weather and unequalled entertainment, but it is central to absolutely no one in the SEC except UF and even that is a 6 hour drive.

I'd add Nashville, if they ever build a dome stadium. That would be a fun trip!
Would not be fun sitting outdoors with the weather Nashville gets at that time of year.
