As long as it is understood that the games only count in the conference standings in the years they are scheduled to play by the SEC I don't see why not. My question would be does UT have the balls to go along with it.

We could just schedule this game instead of a big OOC opponant

I dont know for sure, but I think TN fans have the same feelings towards the 3rd Saturday in Oct as Bama fans do, maybe moreso b/c they dont have an Auburn/in state rival to speak of

To me it is the easiest way around moving Auburn to the East and preserving rivalries. Both teams seem to like to schedule one tough non conference game a year so it's really a no brainer. You could even play somewhere neutral like Atl or Nashville.

just as soon as #14 arrives

Dont care.

They will never split up the AU/UGA game.

You think AU/UGA is the main rivalry they're working to protect?

If Tennessee-Bama and AU-UGA games are so important, then those teams should be in the same division. Move AU and Bama East and Kentucky to the West.

I'd be fine with that if the alternative is giving up the Bama game.

I'd actually prefer to be in the same division as Alabama.

I think this is a good idea actually. I mean let's face it, we are not getting anyone from the ACC. Especially since they went up on their buyout price from $12/15 million to $20+ million. So, for all you fans who want VT, Miami, FSU, NCST, etc., it ain't happening!!!

Missouri is the ONLY choice b/c OU & Texas are not coming to the SEC. I don't understand why fans of the SEC don't want Missouri.

It's the only "logical" option. But this is the rant, "logic" is not common.

We're going to Oregon soon, and we have series scheduled with Oklahoma, Ohio State, USC, and probably some other good team I'm forgetting in the upcoming years.

I don't think we would be too scared.

The thing is, it would suck to have to give up those series. The schedule would be brutal if we didn't. Also, I'm afraid that scheduling Bama as an OOC game wouldn't last for whatever reason and may end up hurting the rivalry a lot.

Yup. If we lose Bama, we really don't have a major rivalry anymore. Florida's a stretch. frick that.
