Might it be WVU is"14" after all?? (long)

WVU may well end up in C-USA 2.0, but here is some stuff I have been chewing on. Yeah, maybe it's one of those conspiracy theory whacko scenarios, or maybe a lot of wishful thinking, but it's what I have been thinking about:
1. about 3 weeks ago, it was reported that Commissioner Slive was granted authority to discuss possible SEC admission with WV and MO. This is the one point that I think is the weakest as the press seems to know absolutely nothing factual regarding team 14- printing articles based on twitter tweets, calling it "scoop" or "sources". But again, maybe there was some merit to this rumor (??)
Assuming that the above rumor has a degree of accuracy, let's consider some facts before moving on to the rest of my delusion.
SEC - wants to avoid possible litigation for conference poaching. Wants absolutely no discussion of team 14 until 13 (A&M) is done. IF, and this is a big IF, there were talks between Slive and WVU AD Luck, Luck would be sworn to secrecy regarding this matter. Sure - ok to say WV sent paperwork to SEC (or ACC, or B12, etc) but total secrecy regarding any "deal"
Now, on to what's happened since:
2. WVU has gone nearly silent for going on 2 weeks. Stories from ill-informed twitter-scooping reporters that WV was rejected are "reported" and eaten up as fact by the media(from that McMurphy tool with CBS)- WVU fans are becoming suicidal, facing BCS obliteration - - WVU's reaction is crickets.
3. SEC has been totally silent as well, with two significant exceptions: Mo. paper reports that per booster, Mo. was extended an invite to SEC. SEC promptly quashes this story. Birmingham paper then says it's an "informal" agreement. SEC again instantly quashes this rumor with statement that there is no "formal or informal offer to any team"(other than A&M)
4. After the Mizzou/WV "rumor" comes out, there is a good deal of SEC fan negativity toward WVU. Coincidentally(?), about that time, Paul Finebaum begins a pro-WV propaganda crusade on his national radio show. He has now ratcheted it up to the point where Finebaum was today a guest on the WV Metronews network, espousing, as he has daily on his radio show, why WV should be in the SEC. He also has ex-WV coach RichRod on today as well. My understanding is Finebaum, despite his Jerry Springer-like show, is well connected to the SEC. I have listened to Finebaum for a couple years and WV is not on his radar - - till now. Makes me think.....is this an orchestrated pro-WV propaganda campaign initiated by someone??
5. WVU AD Luck issues statement that there is no doubt in his mind that WVU will remain in a position of national prominence......no mention of BE, or any other conference.
6. WVU AD Luck issues a statement following the BE meeting, stating that the BE will be working hard to add BCS caliber teams. No mention of WVU or WVU's role in this effort.
7. SEC? - Crickets - why? because A&M, the 13th team, has STILL not been accepted yet.
8. Big 12 stays together - rumors of possible expansion including WVU (deflection)
9. Media and twitter and fans - "it's VT" "no - secret talks with FSU". "Wait, SEC wants Carolina - it's UNC, it's NCSt." "Wrong - it's OU and OSU" Again.........total deflection - - till 13 is done
My psychotic prediction? WVU was the first or second SEC choice for 14 for a couple/few weeks now. BUT - - 13 is not done. Both parties (SEC and WV) have done an excellent job of going silent, and there's plenty of deflection going on. Meanwhile, Finebaum is recruited by the SEC for grass roots pro-WV propanda campaign in the heart of SEC country for greater public acceptance of the proposition.........
OK - - I know - - I am a nut, and I need some sleep
..............but.... think about it.

SEC didn't want y'all at first. But then Joe Manchin called in a favor to his friend, Nick Saban. No worries, bro. Y'all are in now.

Yeah - that too

Finebaum is well connected and is chummy with Slive. It wouldn't surprise me to find out Slive and Finebaum are working together to steer the conversation on WV to SEC. I don't know how likely it is, but it wouldn't surprise me.

You may not be a nut at all. Did you know that Mike Slive and Paul Finebaum are very close friends?
I was shocked today to hear that Rich Rod was on Finebaum's show. Paul made a mockery of his wife during the Alabama Coaching search.
Strange bedfellows indeed. You may turn out to be right in your theory.

Finebaum just loves the couch burning. Had a caller explain what it's all about and he said WVU would fit in fine in the SEC. Since that caller, he's all over WVU. Plus he hates LSU. BTW I want WVU too.

No....your going to the Big 12.

Article is pretty much total BS. No, we don't wear slacks and ties and sundresses, and snack on wine and cheese. WV ain't the ACC. I won't even argue that this MSU fan saw a few characters as he describes - but these same slobs are also seen in Starkvegas, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, etc., and most mis-behaved fans are the guidos from Jersey who weren't smart enough to get in Rutgers.

Please! make it stop, so far today ive heard that Texas tech, Kansas, Missouri, cincinatti, wvu, Louisville and even navy have a chance to join the SEC. Lol, none of which should be anywhere near this conference.

WVU fans should hope the Big 12 schools minus TAMU agree to staying together for 5 more years. Seems like SEC will accept Mizzou first as the 14th member but the fallback will be WVU. The ACC is trying to make themselves untouchable by increasing the buy-out. I do find it interesting that they increased the buy-out to $20 mil and then brought in Syracuse and Pitt. They then tried to raise the buy-out even more but FSU and Maryland refused to sign off on it.
