I'd wager a sizable number of people would incorrectly guess Texas had a historically better program than OU - maybe even over 50%

Txas hasn't even done better than Oklahoma in the past 10 years. 2 Confrene titles to 6. Stoops has been MUCH better than Brown. I know what you're saying (although I don't agree with it, as I said compare Bama's records in between 92-09 and then look at USC's records in the 80's and 90's)

Well despite OU's success, they have been acting like Texas' little sister throughout this entire process.

yall are so right! OU not going to the SEC has nothing to do with trying to stay with OSU (who btw has more grads in the okie leg then OU) and everything to do with being under the thumb of Texas. Hell how horrid of Texas to think of a plan that would allow both OU and Okie state to stay in a BCS conf. The Horror!!

there is ZERO benefit to attempting to stay in a conf with historic rivals. how dumb of them.

As the OP there states, a Colorado blog indicates OU is headed west... (have they ever seen the ocean?)

You're right. You can't have a good rivalry game like:

Notre Dame-USC,
FSU-Florida,
FSU-Miami (80's and 90's)
and Texas-Oklahoma (that's right, that game was played for DECADES with both schools in different conferences!)

unless you are in the same conference! Gee you're smart!

Well that was very dramatic of you. I am amazed that it came from a UT supporter... NOT!

If OU was worried about OSU, I'm quite certain that the SEC would take them in a package deal. In fact, if UT would get of their high horse and come along, all those big rivals would be intact and everyone would make a shite ton more money than they would in the PAC-16.

Maybe they want to reunite with all the Okies who left for Cali during the Dust Bowl days?
