I only want 1 Texas school to join and that would be out of UT or aTm. Having 2 Texas schools would be too detrimental to LSU recruiting in Texas.

During the Southwest Conference days, Texas controlled the conference (politically). It consisted of all-Texas teams and Arkansas until Arkansas left. Diversity converts to larger viewing audiences and $$$. Frank Broyles could see the whole equation (for us). I've always believed that Texas preferred to keep it that way because it virtually insured them having an easier road to championships/elite bowl games/money. Texas has always had strong teams and they like to dominate/control their divisions/conference. Their team would not have near the success that they are used to having if they were in the SEC. They would be successful, just not nearly as successful, which converts to less championships and money, IMO. Unequal sharing of revenue helped in the short term and hurt them in the long term ...at least in the Big 12.

Sorry, I cannot give a serious answer to someone who pulls stats out of their arse.

FWIW, everyone SEC fan I know wanted UT, because none of us are scared of competition. Our conference is loaded with recent national champions, why on earth would UT scare us??? Frick, bring 'em on.

How would UT coming hurt LSU's recruiting? They already recruit at a high level year after year, and for the most part get their pick in Texas. aTm has the biggest leap to make in recruiting; they would potentially be the biggest hindrance to LSU's recruiting effort's.

Although I agree on rather having aTm join at this point.
