Word this morning from Chip "Cape Cod" Brown, is that if Mizzou does NOT make an announcement regarding its intentions today, this will drag on into next week.

Mizzou wanted to make this a weekend of "we're leaving for the SEC together" thing out of this upcoming game with A&M, but if they cant work out whatever it is they are working out by today - they will not make an announcement tomorrow.

A list of Chip Brown's stories regarding Missouri:

1. Missouri staying in Big 12
2. Missouri NOT staying in Big 12
3. Missouri staying in Big 12 until 2013, then leaving.
4. Missouri staying in Big 12 until 2012, then leaving.
5. Missouri dragging this on until next week
6. Missouri NOT dragging this on until next week

Chip also said it would take a "miracle" for Mizzou to be "allowed" to play in the SEC in 2012.....even though the contracts explicitly lay out the terms for leaving up to 6 months in advance (December 30, 2011 for June 30, 2012).

MU timeline: Deaton leaves for India next week
quote:

Deaton’s office confirms he is scheduled to deliever a keynote address at an international conference on radiopharmaceuticals in Agra, India November 1-9.

Radiopharmaceuticals - if was explained to me - have a lot to do with a process for the diagnosis of numerous diseases.

But back to the subject of the most current interest: That means Deaton's out of the country starting Tuesday, or perhaps even Monday.

And would Missouri announce any move without Deaton – the official authorized to authorize such a move – on hand?

Not likely.

There's 2 chances of that happening:

1. Slim and
2. None

Mizzou has almost painted themselves into a corner by dragging this thing on (even if there's legitimate reasons for the delay). The Big 12 has already made it known that there's "several options" and some which are "better teams" to replace them.

I don't think Mizzou can tolerate the negativity that will surely abound if they crawl back and ask for forgiveness from the head potentate of the conference (UT).

Mizzou apparently waiting on the WVU/Lousiville/Big 12/Big East shitstorm to clear. Good luck with that. I don't know what their lawyers are making, but it isn't enough to deal with this mess.

What I mean is, as Deaton said two days ago, the decision has been made and we all know what it is. All kinds of details to iron out.

To answer 100 questions in one fell swoop for #Mizzou fans, Deaton has done his part. This is now in the hands of lawyers.

Actually the legitimate reason for it is that the Big 12 is dragging it out not Mizzou. You have to remember when a Big 12 official speaks it is filled with lies. They kept telling us that Texas A&M could be talked into staying and they weren't leaving too..

What they do is get the school officials in a room and start saying stick with us we will get Notre Dame in here and give you an annual game with them.

When that doesn't appease you they say we will set up a Big 12 network for all the teams 3rd tier rights. Which later ends up with Oklahoma's AD questioning where that idea came from and asking how it would work considering the LHN and the fact Oklahoma is setting up their own.

When you still want to leave they bring in TCU and say they're an upgrade to the conference and promise to add WVU. When that doesn't make you wanna stay they make public quotes saying how they're bringing in better teams anyway.

Then their mouthpiece comes out and says Missouri hasn't announced they're leaving yet. But they get undercut by a reporter tweeting Tuesday night that says hold up is the negotiations between the Big 12 and Missouri about exit fee and when they will be allowed to leave.

It appears they want a huge exit fee and also threatening lawsuits by universities who will be losing home games with Missouri for next year.

Here we are waiting on the Lawyers again since the Big 12 is threatening lawsuits against Missouri if they don't stick around for another year before leaving for the SEC. But some speculation is the Big 12 is holding things up because they didn't want Saturdays game between Texas A&M and Mizzou to be a game between two announced members of the SEC for next year.

An interesting quote from the another site.

quote:

The Tigers might still be forced to make a farewell tour through the Big 12 next year, but one official with an SEC school told us Wednesday: “The Big 12 isn't the only group with attorneys reading through contracts.”

As a fan that has just gone through the process of getting out of that conference, I can assure you with 99.9% of my gut saying that the hold up is with the shennanigans of the Big XII.

Mizzou wants out. There is no brinksmanship at the moment.

You can count on the fact when a member of the Big XII is talking, that person is telling half truths at best and full on lies at worst.

If turnabout is fair play, then perhaps the Big East will be threatening the Big 12 with similar lawsuits for its role in breaking up the Big East and screwing with their scheduling.

I'd guess it is tonight OR tomorrow in the morning.

As for Chip "DooDoo" Brown..... He will make shite up, later have it proven incorrect, but still spew his own lies over the austin radio waves.

He is a complete farce, and shouldn't be allowed to be called a reporter.
