Mizzou's not coming. big 12 is salvaged for now.

SEC will play with 13 this coming year because they are not sold on WVU. They will wait and see what shakes out.

Personally, I think WVU is a good fit. Bring them and let's stay at 14.

I also think that the decision not to take WVU bodes well for those of us who are hoping not to go past 14. If we had decided already to go to 16, no problem taking WVU now.

I agree. 13 teams. In which case there will be MAC conference style schedules. The West with 7 teams will have 4 teams that will play 1 less divisional game and keep their crossdivisional rivals. The other 3 West teams would have to drop their crossdiv games and only play 2 random East teams. On the East side, you have 4 teams with their same crossdiv rivals and the other 2 East teams with no crossdiv rivals, but play 3 random West teams instead. A total of 18 crossdiv games.

# of div games / # of crossdiv rival games / # of other crossdiv games
West:
5/1/2: Ala, Aub, Miss, MSU
6/0/2: LSU, Ark, TAMU
East:
5/1/2: Ten, UGA, VU, UK
5/0/3: Fla, USC

Basically, you could have Ala and Aub take turns every 2 years switching back and forth between not playing one of the MS teams. This way no big rivalries are lost in the West and the omnipotent Ala-Ten\Aub-UGA games are intact.
