I don't understand all of the A&M hate.

A ton of the stuff A&M does is weird, but most of the students here feel the same way about it. Every school has weird traditions, or weird people. That doesn't mean everybody that goes/went there is like that.

I don't hate A&M I think your great add to the SEC!
But some of these people on the rant are downright mean. Its not just you they are like that with everyone. Don't take it to heart

I've waiting 19 years (I'm 19) to get to play LSU again. I've loved that school even more since I went to BR a couple of years back. Almost went there, too.

imo, questioning other peoples traditions is not only in bad taste it is almost always based in ignorance (of their traditions origin). i still hear some people generalize about yankees and base their generalization not on first hand knowlege but on what they have heard. sometimes younger people do this because they heard it from their parents and have not yet experienced otherwise. don't take it personal. its also quite possible that since most of your traditions originate from the time when y'all were a military school and now the corps is such a small part of the university it is hard to understand why military traditions were retained. but knocking what one doesn't understand is one sign of a closed mind and i hope people enlarge their scope of understanding. having said all of that, adding female cheerleaders in skimpy outfits would be a fantastic new tradition.

I went to the LSU/A&M game in 1986. A&M marching band played and that's what I remember most about that game. Well that and Sammy Martin's run.

I'm thinking the weaker SEC school's hate you out of fear, hell they barely can win in the SEC as is, now add aTm it'll get even worse. LSU and Arkansas hate you for the old school rivalries.

I think most of the nation just doesn't like the state of Texas or anything associated with it. There is an arrogance to Texans that's pervasive and repugnant. Your Aggie "traditions" are strange and your fan base is not well liked anywhere. Your school has created an entire genre of joke telling. Your inclusion in the best football conference is unnecessary to remain the best conference and will have a detrimental effect on rivalries that have been around for decades. By and large, SEC fans don't want expansion and you are seen as an intruder who asked to join the party but was not invited. The only reason you were accepted was for television money and that's not anything that true SEC fans agree with. Need more reasons?

I don't hate A&M (yet). I mean you are not Tennessee or anything.
If anything I kind of feel like you are being rescued. And once you are ok, safe, and home then we can stomp your face. However when you play anyone outside the conference, especially for the rest of the year in the Big 12, I will be pulling for you.
