Not even in the same parameters. Posted on 8/29/11 at 4:49 pm to SunHog
I'm not sure what metrics you guys are using to determine the current strength of an athletic program, but here are some that actually make sense...

The athletic directors cup rankings are nice. We'll see how you perform with SEC competition.
The Arky fans are correct in that golf, T&F, and women's sports don't buy much street cred in the SEC.
Congratulations on having a "strong" athletic program in the Big 12. I await the apples to apples comparison.

Holy frick no wonder the SEC laughs at Arkansas. Its like trying to talk sense into a 1 year old. Can't fricking comprehend common sense posts. Ags, ignore these two piggie clowns, especially Mr. Sun. He is just a troll.

You can tell that
1) A&M has no fricking clue what they are gettig into
and
2) They seem to think someone around here gives a frick about Womens sports
So many hard lessons, culture shocks and lessons they will learn oh so fast

Did you skip all the way down to womens? Is that because you couldn't find Arkansas in the men's rankings? I'll help you.. they were at the bottom.

UT doesnt care about womens basketball. Hell womens basketball is arguably bigger than baseball right now to most of the country. It sure as hell gets a lot more television.
Anyways, like I said a long time ago in this thread, A&M is very strong right now across the board and we are trending upwards. Everyone of our teams is getting better not worse.
Football is king, you dont have to explain this to an Aggie. Luckily that seems to be well on its way.
We will compete in the SEC and help make the conference stronger, and more importantly, make it more money. Not sure why hog fans are so pissy about this and feel the need to jump on every thread about A&M and shout and scream so that they can heard/seen, but thats their issue.

A&M will have as many SEC football championships as Arkansas the moment they step foot in the conference. Can't do worse than that.

"Points are awarded based on each
institution's finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women’s and 10 men’s."
Did you see where all of TAMU's points came from..
Women's Golf, Women's Tennis, Women's Softball, Women's Track and Field.
987 points from TAMU came from Winter and Summer sports, not fall. The vast majority of their points is from women's sports.
If you want to include all of that, yes, TAMU has better than the majority of everyone in the SEC, ha.
This list doesn't even include men's football but it does include women's Row and Lax, ha.

Look... noone is trying to say that you aren't well rounded or that you can't compete. What everyone from the SEC is trying to tell you is that everyone is good here.
Baseball - you made it to the CWS, great. 2 SEC teams played for the title, and USCe won the 3rd straight title for the SEC. (So, making it is nothing special).
Basketball - you made the tourney and had a good run. 2 SEC teams played in the final 4. The SEC has won 25% of the titles over the last 20 years. (We know.... history doesn't matter to you as you've finally arrived. Well, winning matters to us: past, present, and future. You'll need to do more of this in the SEC in the future b/c making the tourney is nothing special.)
Football - we all can agree that this isn't your strong suit.
Again, not a flame. A reality check. You aren't Florida, Bama, LSU, or any of the other SEC programs. You're measured by winning national championships in the SEC (and mostly in the big 3 sports). You have one title back in 1939. That's not "Florida" quality.
Stop trying to prove that you fit in. It's just annoying. Until you win a NC in something that matters..... no amount of talking will convince anyone that you're the pick of the litter.

Gerry, it seems pointless to argue with people who choose to ignore what they can clearly see.
They talk about womens sports, yet forget to realize they are at the bottom when it comes to mens sports

Incorrect. Those are included in the Fall that comes in as a cumulative total. You can look at the Final Fall rankings to see that breakdown.

That's an understatement.
We can all agree TAMU win's national championships in men's cheerleading every single year.

Not a flame either, but you are rather dense. Go back and read the thread. The only thing Ags were arguing in this thread is that we will be able to compete in the SEC in basically all sports. History is fine, but that has no bearing on our ability to be competitive in the SEC in 2012. This isn't that difficult to understand.

It's not on the excel sheet listed because I do not count 20 total as the opening paragraph stated.
If it's counted Texas A&M is below Arkansas in the fall category as listed.

Hey dumbfrick, Arkansas doesn't even have men's:
Ice Hockey
Wrestling
Lacrosse
Swimming
Soccer
When you don't even have half the fricking sports then it's going to be hard to win a points contest.
That's just one of the two links. The other one had rowing and some other shite.

8 Big 12 FBS Texas A&M 1090.50 7 73 7 72 9 69 0 0 0 0 0 0 9 64 33 25 9 64 1 100 1 100 0 0 0 0 103.00

Arkansas wins again in the fall sports which only matter in the SEC.
TAMU talking about women's sports, funny. You can show an idiot the facts but they don't need to accept them.
Arkansas dominates Texas A&M and that's all that matters for me.
