I don't think there is any question that A&M stacks up to the SEC. If Arky did, they do

they definitely stack up with us in the bowl wins

I know football is king, but we would be another Florida. We have an outstanding athletic program. Football program is on the rise and in addition we bring strong academics as well. Win win for everyone.

A&M would make the best division in the best conference in the nation tougher. The SEC West would hold the BCS title almost every year

Vandy is strong in everything but football. Academics, $$$, prestige, basketball, baseball, and i'm sure some other IDGAF sports. They are here to stay.

A&M's athletic program on the whole is on the rise.
Football finally coming around again, preseason top 10.
Basketball been to 6th straight NCAA tourney, returning probably our best team since Acie Law days.
Baseball fresh off a conference championship and CWS appearance, returning an even better team.
Womens basketball just won a NC.
Arguably the best T&F program in the country.
Overall, the SEC is getting probably a top10 athletic program in the country that is actually trending upward.

Isn't A&M's track & field top notch?

Florida - no

Let's make something crystal clear about their endowment. Aggy loves to throw around their endowment as if it has something to do with the athletic program.
Their athletic program will NEVER see a fricking penny of that money.
Second, that figure represents every A&M school in the state of Texas, not just the one in College Station.
In football revenue A&M ranks 18th nationally according to the most recent Forbes #'s. That's good enough for 8th in the SEC, 4 whole spots behind the closest SEC school, Arkansas at #14.
They take out loans from their education side and hold fundraisers to buy light bulbs for their bat shite covered, bat infested hell hole that they call Kyle Field.
That's how they stack up.

What you see and what we are two different things and honestly your opinion means jack shite to me.
For the record, only one person compared us to Florida.
The truth is, our athletic program overall is already much better than many of the SEC current members. Many schools are one or two hit wonders (good at one or two sports), terrible at the rest. A&M is pretty much good at every sport they play in aside from maybe volleyball.
Now, we all know which sport is tops and you wont get any type of argument from me about that. If A&M manages to really turn back around the football program, then the SEC is getting an extremely good athletic and academic institution that also brings two top 10 media markets with them.
A&M is no scrub, period.

Lord willing, no athletic department should touch the school's endowment. You know.. turn a profit and you don't have to.

BZZT. A&M College Station, A&M Galveston, Prairie View A&M, A&M Health Science Center, various Ag type jobs that A&M does.
A&M System includes 9 universities.
Aww heck, I'll go ahead and edit this. Texas A&M Foundation, part of our endowment that is separate from the PUF has a value of 1.287 billion. That endowment alone would put A&M #2 in the SEC, behind Vanderbilt and in front of Florida.

I'm for A&M coming, but you guys will be 6th/7th at best. Our schools are great at other sports as well, they just get overshadowed by football. We're the #1 baseball conference, IMO. And as bad as we may seem in basketball... we had two teams in the final four. There's not one sport you will come in and dominate. With that said, can't wait until you guys get here.

Tap the brakes..... I'll let LSU and Florida speak for themselves but they bring an incredible amount of balance.
As for Arkansas, in football A&M has been our bitch for 100+ years and that isn't changing. As for T&F, go find yourself 40 more NC's, 5 Triple Crowns and so many Conference Titles that you have to rent storage space for the hardware. Lets not compare Basketball resumes either. Oh, and welcome to the toughest baseball conference in the land.
Long story short, if you think the SEC is full of schools that can only do one or two things well, well, you're in for a ruder awakening than I originally thought.

We would be favorites to win the SEC West like every year, and compete for the SEC championship against UK. SEC sucks in basketball compared to the Big 12. Not saying these sports matter very much, but we would dominate women's basketball and track.
