...Missouri from leaving for the Big Ten if they come calling in a few years, assuming Missouri joins the SEC now?

I think getting Missouri to commit long term should be a top priority for the SEC, because if they bolt then that will look very bad.

Well anyone could leave but the SEC would find another school and move on. Remember schools have left the SEC before and may leave again. JMO

I don't think we really care. With the new TV contract that will follow, we'll be able to find a quick replacement.

Unlike the Southwest Conference and Big XII, the SEC doesn't hold its members hostage.

Anyone happen to know what the exit penalty/fee is for leaving the SEC?

the fee is nothing

the typical penalty for leaving is a reduced national stature and fading program

Tulane... Georgia Tech... made their asses quit.

Sewanee didn't need help. They just decided to quit on their own.

That's what I've heard but wasn't certain if it was true.

But it tells you all you need to know about the SEC.

We don't need a ball and chain to keep our conference together.

It's like the scene to the entrance of a popular night club... There's a line of people waiting to get in. If some one comes out that door, the velvet rope comes back-"next".
