Hope you guys have a safe and fun filled trip to Columbia.
Flat Branch Pub and Brewery is hands down my favorite restaurant in Columbia. Great microbrewery and the Brown Ale is fantastic.

Booches (on 9th st. next to Panera Bread Co.)
LINK
Murrys (South of the stadium on Providence & Green Meadows)
LINK
Shakespeares Pizza Won Good Morning Americas Best Bites Challenge: College Edition....wheat crust and pepperjack cheese is a must.
LINK
The bar scene is pretty good in Columbia...
Field House is pretty crazy on a Friday night with $10 bottomless cup from 9-12.
LINK
The Penguin (dueling piano bar) is pretty popular on Fridays before games...usually doesn't carry many specials but is popular among the young and old.
LINK
Harpos is your quintessential college bar and very popular before, during and after games. They used to carry $1 bottles on Friday nights, but I doubt they do anymore due to games.
LINK
Big XII (now known as Campus Bar and Grill) is a pretty good bar with a lot of TVs, good food, and pretty cheap drinks. If you are here on Sunday, they have dollar burgers which are pretty damn good.
LINK
Bengals is a pretty good bar also. They have a huge outdoor seating area and lots of TVs inside. I also believe they have a shuttle to the game too.
LINK
Shiloh Bar and Grill is a really popular bar with live music Friday and Saturdays and a huge outdoor seating area.
LINK
All the bars you could want are between 9th St. to 4th street and Broadway to Elm St.
I would recommend checking out the campus while you are here, especially The Quad, Memorial Union, The new MU student center and our Rec Center LINK

Not a bad town, IMO. Dated a Stephens girl for a bit while at UA.

Congrats sub-tigers!

Maybe St. Louis can host an SEC Championship game now too. Time to get this puppy moving around.

I think its a pretty good college town, especially since the campus and downtown are side by side and even intertwine a bit.

"We certainly are not ruling out staying in the Big 12," said chancellor Brady Deaton who also announced he was stepping down as chair of the Big 12 board of directors.

Has been talked about quite a bit.....they would like to renovate to at least the 80,000 mark.

It's nicer than a few stadium currently in the SEC. So I don't think that's a dealbreaker.

I hope this is really "done"...I'm for ANYTHING that effs the Big 12.
Just remember....OU and A&M both authorized their presidents to act. One left, one did not.
I don't think you'd authorize if you didn't have an unofficial invite....after watching the embarrassment that is OU do their thing....but we shall see.
And count me in as wanting Mizzou in the East. I understand why Arkansas fans are excited to have them. Make them Arkansas' East rival. Everybody wins.

WVU guy, our president said those EXACT same words when he was given authorization....even though at the time, every one of our boards was saying it was 100% certain that we were leaving the Big 12, even if it meant being Independent for a year.

Former Stephens Susie here. I look forward to MU vs. AU in Columbia.

Imagine that huge rivalry between Mizzery and Arkie.
They have played exactly 5 times since 1906. FIVE.
Mizzery holds 3-2 series edge. Must be a huge border state rivalry.

Potential for a great rivalry though

OU gave their President authority to leave, but they didn't not leave because they chose the Big 12, they didn't leave because the PAC said no.
Posted on 10/4/11 at 8:20 pm to NonregAg09
I know OU didn't back out....my point is, does Mizzou have assurances that the SEC will take them, no questions asked?

The rivalry would be great in basketball.
