Hawgon, 12 young men and women lost their lives. 12 families that were forever changed that day.
Keep that in mind when you are trying to get the last laugh on an Internet message board.
I'm not saying that those kids deserved to die, because they didn't. But at the same time, anyone who does anything as stupid as they were doing, should expect to die.
They might as well have been playing checkers on an artillery range. And only Aggies don't get that basic point.

You're completely ignorant
Because a bunch of students building a 150 ft tall stack of giant logs is something a well informed person would be in favor of?

hawgon=everything that is wrong with humanity. What a piece of shite.

No, you are ignorant you jackass because its obviously a subject that involves 12 Aggies dying and we don't particularly give a frick what your opinion on the matter is.
It was a tragedy, and 12 good kids dying is not something most people make light of.
Take your opinion on the matter and shove it up your arse.

Oh, I don't make light of it at all, in fact, I was horrified by it. But I was more horrified by all the stupid Aggies who had the unmitigated gall and stupidity to suggest that the kids had died doing something worthwhile and honorable. THAT is what I'm making fun of. It is the ridiculous Aggie mindset that turns an idiotic and insanely and unnecessarily dangerous acitivity, into a sacred Aggie ritual.
What those kids did was no different than any number of other stupid things that kids do to get killed, but instead of recognizing that, the Aggies not only encouraged them to do said stupid stunt in the first place, you get mad when someone tells you how stupid it was.

You have no concept of what Bonfire meant to the students that worked on it, then. It was about so much more than just "beating the hell outta texas." It was a time of unparalleled comraderie among groups of students who otherwise would probably never have crossed paths at A&M. It was about teamwork, unity, and school spirit, not just "hey let's go chop down some trees."
THAT'S what the Aggies were encouraging. Should it have been done better? Absolutely. Not defending that at all. That said, it was a horrible ACCIDENT--Bonfire had burned for years before without significant incident.
In short, frick you and your attitude toward this event in general, you piece of shite.

Thank you for just proving my point.

No, that you stupid Aggies try to imbue a stupid student stunt with some sort of spiritual significance.

Where did I say it was spiritual? Nothing spiritual about comraderie and school spirit. Whether you think that display was stupid or not is entirely your opinion.
Hell, FOOTBALL is dangerous, yet we encourage kids to play it in the name of school pride. Get over your warped sense of logic.

Warped sense of logic? The next time 12 players get killed and 27 get seriously injured to the point of requiring multiple amputations in a football game, I'll agree with you. But until then, you're just a stupid Aggie.

And how many players have been injured, paralyzed, or killed in the name of college football since its inception? And that happens ANNUALLY. The Bonfire tragedy was a one time thing.
Stupid piggy.

Oh no, that sumbitch had collapsed on several occasions before, luckily no one had been killed when it did. Of course, kids had been killed plenty of times in the woods by being run over and the like while logging to build the bonfire.
And dufus, if as many bonfires were built as there are football games played, then the death toll would be in the thousands upon thousands.
I am here to tell you that there is NO activity more dangerous than logging and they should have taken every adminstrator out and shot him for allowing that schit.

Probably. If others do, so will the SEC. It's all about getting the TV money and making an attractive offering for the networks.
