Has Bo said this? I know he brought it up for people to call in and discuss on his radio show but I did not think he thought the Hogs ought to pack up the tent and move to the Big Whatever. I thought Bo was pro SEC all the way. I listen to his show a lot but have been on the net more when it's on because I have found this to be more entertaining.

Financially, jumping to the Big 12-2 makes no sense for Arky BUT, regardless of what they say here, every Arkansas fan/alum I have talked with in person always, without fail, confides that they really miss being a conference rival with Texas and that college football isn't as much fun as it was during the SWC days.

How do you talk to a lot of Arkansas fan/alum living in Washington? I'm not calling you a liar, just asking. I agree Hog fans miss playing Texas. But they don't miss the rest of that SWC. What they miss the most is winning and that is a direct cause of making poor coaching hires. I think if this coach sticks up there the Hogs will get back to winning more games. Yeah Nutt got them in some bowls but he will never take you to the promise land. The Hog fans have grown to hate the LSU's, Bama and Auburns of the SEC and they enjoy the good games they get to see in their two stadiums and when they travel. Arkansas is my darkhorse to win the SEC West and when that university gets back to being in the Top 10 from time to time this state will explode with Hog and SEC pride. Like I said, Frank Broyles put the Razorbacks in the Stone Age from poor coaching hires. LSU did the same damn thing in the 80's and 90's.

I'm 33. Here's how I feel, and most of my friends aren't even as interested in Texas as me.
I remember the SWC as a child. I do hate Texas. I enjoy hating on Texas A&M.
That's it. There's no other feeling about any of the rest of the Big 12 teams.
I used to live in Texas. As a state, Arkansas is much more geared towards Texas (Dallas) than it is towards any of the rest of the states it borders. I go to Dallas 3-4 times a year.
I've been to Memphis for the purpose of going to Memphis once in my life. I've driven through Memphis about three other times. I've been to Atlanta once in my life.
That said, I have no desire for us to move to the Big 12. None.
If it happened it would really piss me off. I enjoy the SEC, and so do probably 90% of Arkansas fans at this point. We prefer it.

And I don't blame you WMR! I would prefer Bama, Auburn, or the Vols playing up the hill and LSU in Little Rock versus Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas or Kansas State in your house.

How embarrassing is that though? Hey Arkie wants in the Big 12 cause it is so awesome but does not have the votes to get in. This the day after Jeff Long our AD comes out and says we are committed to the SEC.

I interpreted that as the Arkansas BOT doesn't have enough vote in favor of Big 12.

I'm listening to Chip Brown right now and this asshat TRULY believes that Arkansas wants back in the Big 12!
He says we miss Texas, we're a better fit, blah blah blah.
I'm 30 and have seen 4 Arkansas-Texas games in person. I enjoyed them. That's where the personal interest begins and ends.
These Austin folks really believe the earth revolves around them and 119 football teams should be honored to play them.
I would rather go 8-4 or 7-5 in the toughest conference in America for the next 50 years than take the chickenshit route of playing in a beatdown, irrelevant Big 12 where we could win 10 to 12 games on a regular basis. Winning more games by choosing the weakest competition possible is a pussy way to win, and exaxctly why Texas loves the SWC/Little 10 set-up.

What are you boys listening to Chip Brown on? I'd love to hear this? I honestly think the people at Texas have lost their mind. The AD from Arkansas yesterday says there are rumors flying around but the Hogs are solid being in the SEC and then all this. Either Texas has a beef with the Hogs and wants to stir the pot or they are mad at Mike Slive and the SEC for throwing a monkey wrench into their grand plan by offering Texas A&M a spot in the SEC. I never had a problem with Texas before but I honestly think I may hate Texas more than Notre Dame or USC now.

Seriously, I view the Hogs missing the Horns rivalry like LSU fans miss the A&M rivalry. We'd love to play them, but we have absolutely no interest, even for a second, in joining the Big 12.

I moved about a year ago.
As for the prime issue in this thread, the Texas president and AD will decide whether or not we want to let Arkansas in to the conference and you guys will know something after our decision is made.
