Not just culture, but football culture. Football is year around in Texas, not so much on the West coast. Interest drops dramatically when football season is over.

he lead writer for UT's 247 site tweeted that there would be 4 team pods with a 3-2-2-2 conference schedule. OU, OSU, UT, and TT would be one of those pods

This model would be tough with some long standing rivalries not playing every year as you would have to rotate the teams in the other 3 divisions.

Well there's irony considering he was talking about games played on the west coast, not at UT or OU.

I know what he was talking about. No OU or UT game on the west coast will start later than 5 pac./ 7 central.

laughable.

the PAC12 schools will not allow Texas to join with the current LHN setup. Either they strip it or go independent.

This. I'd rather play everyone in a division and one permanent rival from the other side.

So you've been inside on the negotiations have you? Let us know the inside scoop.

You have no clue what the Pac will and won't allow any more than anyone else here does. Why? Because it's an unprecedented issue. Maybe TLN has to be shared with another team like some of the other Pac teams do, maybe Texas gets to keep it but pays the Pac anything over the normal tier 3 rates, maybe the Pac says "screw you guys, we're fine without you", maybe the Pac is thinking ahead and realizes what the future holds and wants to get a jump on super conferences and just allows Texas in as is.

I'm more concerned about a super-STD being created when Texas Tech visits ASU

This made me LOL. First time in a while I've read something that did that. Thanks.

Didn't even look at the link, but weren't they going to the ACC just 24 hours ago?

ACC requires 27 month waiting time frame. Big 12 is gone after this season so ACC isnt an option for UT.

I don't understand why you post on a message board if you are opposed to someone having an opinion in an open discussion.

I'm really excited about SC potentially getting to play OU and UT on a regular basis, but It's just hard for me to imagine a Pac-16 being a viable long-term option. The divides, both geographically and between the haves and have nots are simply enormous

+1

It sounds cool at first...but long-term it ruins regionalism and identity in sports brand. This is a big country - too big for just 4 super-conferences. I already miss the old days.

Link?

I don't think that's accurate. I believe it's the Big East that has a 27 month notification for withdrawal. Hence why Pitt and Syracuse have to wait till they can join the ACC.

The Pac schools will do exactly what we tell them to do.....

For the 1,000,000,000th time, does anyone in the world doubt our decision to leave these insufferable twats?
