It's not Mizzou the SEC wants, it's STL and KC market, and it seems as though Mizzou fans aren't getting that

There's no real proof that anyone from the Missouri administration wants the Big 10. Most of the talk about the Big 10 came from the Missouri Governor whose an idiot and businessmen from the eastern side of the state. No one from the western side that I know of wants anything to do with the Big 10. Some intellectual snobs from the University may want it but I doubt most do.
If you look at last year the only thing from the MU administration about the Big 10 was an answer given by Mr. Deaton on a question about the Big 10. He answered."If they call us we will listen and do what's best for Missouri". I think any university in the Big 12 would have said that. If not they are delusional because they are stuck in a conference that doesn't care about their members as partners. On top of that the rumors were already out there that Texas was shopping itself along with 5 other Big 12 teams as block to join the Pac 10. From that point on the answer was "we are a proud member of the Big 12 and wont comment on rumors".
Yes a lot of fans were wanting the Big 10 to call but any fan would have done the same. It wasn't about liking the Big 10 or wanting to be there. It was about being tired of having no voice in the Big 12 and no one here thought there was any chance the SEC would want MU.
Yes this year it is a lot of the same but the fans are excited and elated because it is the SEC. The first mention of the SEC and MU fans started a grassroots campaign and swamped the curators and any person of power with thousands of e-mails, tweets and texts. That didn't happen last year with the Big 10 because they just wanted. This year we're elated and excited that the SEC wants us and we want them.
Mizzou isn't a bad football program either. Bad teams don't win 40 games in 4 years and have 5 first round draft picks in the last 3 years. I will be the first to admit that after Dan Devine left in 1969 they went into a tailspin that lasted about 30 years. Since they hired Gary Pinkel they have improved and been a much better football program especially over the last 4 or 5 years. This year is a result of an inexperienced sophomore QB after losing our QB to the NFL draft.

USNWR academic average. (assuming we add WV to the Big 12)
SEC (2011) - 99.17
Big 12 (2010) - 99.75
Big 12 (2011) - 100.2
SEC (2012) - 95.57
Big 12 (2012) - 111.5
In fact, tu's academic reputation may DECREASE as a result.

Now they can recruit in SEC states better.
Something like 42% of their 2-deep is from Texas. They're going to lose a lot of that if they move.

I agree with it and prefer WVU.

Agree WVU > Mizzou

Mizzou is an AAU university. Academics is MUCH bigger to Slive & the current SEC member Chancellors than most fans realize. I can't see the SEC admitting a non-AAU school to the SEC.
