That's half true. For the nj kids its cheaper to go there than stay home. Probably half the student body is out of state from dc/bmore area,pittsburgh,philly and ny/nj. But as a fall back for wv residents that's completely false. The standards for instate kids to go there are much lower b/c they want every wv kid to have a chance to go to college and for cheap I mean like real cheap. I went to HS with a few kids that didn't get into WVU but were able to go to pretty decent virginia schools
