I think Texas is a machine that will one day lead us to a playoff. Slowly it will move from conference to conference, destroying them from within. As each conference dies, the other conferences will snag teams from the rotting carcass getting bigger and bigger. Eventually there will be a single conference with all the major teams (whose playoff will make a de facto national championship) and an independent Texas, who will probably get the AP title most years.
