ACC Motivation for Pitt/Cuse move

I've been out of the loop the last week other than headlines, but been in NYC and with several Cuse alums who are pretty active.

They were shocked at the timing the move and basically figured it's the ACC being proactive and expecting the SEC to poach some combo of FSU/VTech/Clemson/Maryland--as opposed to conquering they are adding with the expectation of an eventual loss.

Probably discussed ad nausea, but that was the opinion of some Syracuse boosters.

I think the ACC saw that there would be 4 superconferences. 3 of those are clear--Big 10, SEC, and Pac 12. So it didn't want to be left out and wanted to be the 4th. Therefore, start poaching some of the better teams left in the Big East.

No way NC moves or UVA, they took Pitt and 'Cuse to give them the NE TV market.
