We're set.... already have the Aggies scheduled in Jerry World for the next 8 years.
Are y'all obligated to that contract if they join the SEC? Will the Arkansas/A&M game be in Dallas for the next 8 years no matter what?

Hypothetically, say LSU was put in a division with Bama, Auby, Fla, OM, Arky, and TxAgs? Then Fla misses Ga, OM missis Ms St., etc. With all of the traditional rivalries that exist in the SEC, someone is going to get shafted no matter what scenario you come up with.
Why would you even NEED to come up with a division like that if you are simply adding A&M to the West and another team to the East?
If A&M is added to the West and Va Tech (OR another Eastern team) to the East they become each other's 1 permanent cross division game while each team rotates the other 2 cross division games like they do now. The ONLY difference is it will take a couple extra years to go through the rotation of every cross division team showing up on your schedule. ALL the traditional cross divisional games are kept intact and everything stays practically the same.
I'd caution people to be VERY careful in simply blowing off tradtional rivalries and the current setup as if it means nothing. There's a very good chance fans are going to start missing those games when they're gone and will wonder what and the heck just happened to the game they loved.

I agree with this guy.
This kind of shite is permanent. I hate the changes coming, and we already play Aggie every year.
There are enough teams in the SEC right now. I really wish we'd consdier everything before adding more.

I think you misunderstood my point. This was just a hypo to illustrate that some big annual games will probably have to go away with the re-allignment. The SEC will not add a 9th conference game to everyone's schedule. 7 team division will result in 6 division games, and two non-division games. Simply put, I think the SEC inter-division permanent match-ups will be sacrificed. The alternative would mean playing a non-division team once every six years, or twice every twelve years. I don't think anyone in power would go for that.
