14th SEC member update (FlightAware) SOURCE This works for two reasons. (1) Mizzou to the East means an easy scheduling fix. They become our permanent cross-division rival, and everything else stays the status quo. (2) If/When conference realignment Armageddon comes, Mizzou is easily shifted to the West, and Slive goes after two schools from the East Coast (VTech, NC State?) to complete the 16 team mega conference. Again, classic rivalries can be maintained. The only wild card would be a 4x4 conference pod system. SEC West - A&M, LSU, Ark, Mizzou SEC Central - Ole Miss, Miss State, Aubrun, Bama SEC North - Vandy, Tennessee, Kentucky, VTech SEC East - Georgia, Florida, NC State, USC
I'm prety sure that if Missouri were to be added to the East, they would make one change in cross over rivals--Missouri would be paired with Arkansas, given the proximity, and A&M would take Arkansas's place as South Carolina's cross-over rival. Everyone else would stay the same.

King open your mind to what could be. Don't be trapped in the past. The ACC and B1G aren't geographically divided. Each of my divisions has 5 solid football teams, one sometime solid and Vandy or Ole Miss.

Geography matters less than competitive balance for divisions...
Also, I abolish permanent opponents from other division.

Division ABC
LSU
Bama
Auburn
Tenn
USC
MSU
Ole Miss

Division XYZ
UF
UGA
Ark
A&M
Mizzou???
UKy
Vandy

Not too bad a mix, if it must be Mizzou.

I personally think that they will eliminate the cross-division rivals and implement a 3-team rotation.
I know that Bama-Auburn & Bama/Tenn would go away, assuming Auburn moved over. However, that would only be 3 teams in favor of keeping the permanent opponent.

LSU/UF - neither of these likes having to play each other every year.
Bama/Tenn - advantage bama
Aub/UGA - will still play each other.
Arky/USCe - neither of these probably care about the other.
MissSt/UK - same here, who cares.
OleMiss/Vandy - who cares.

It looks like it would be a 11-3 vote to eliminate the permanent opponents. Tough cookies.

They somehow manage to preserve the Ala/Aub UGA/Aub and UT/Ala rivalries.

Logic Fail. You used logic.

If one of the three votes is Alabama, majority does not apply. Alabama gets what it wants in the SEC.

(In that regard, the SEC is just like the Big XII.)

I'm not arguing that the move makes sense financially. A lot of sense. Also, I am aware that they have a better program than MSU. I just have never had any respect for the product on the field. They are always extremely overrated and play soft football.

Soft football??? They beat Ole Miss 2x and Arkansas the last time they played those team. Somebody mentioned South Carolina too. And they drilled future SEC aTm last year in college station like 30-9. They upset #1 Oklahoma last year. Probably would have beat them this year if their starting RB and other starters weren't injured. I think they're playing their 3rd string RB and people are saying he'll take over the #1 spot.

This year is expected to be a down year because they're playing a new Sophomore QB. I'm sure he'll light it up his Junior and Senior years just like the last 3 QB's from Mizzou. He's pretty good for a sophomore.
