What up, clamdip?

Well, the piggies get the second attempted built-in rivalry.... this time with Mizzou instead of LSU. LSU and A&M become the primary SEC rivalry target of each other, according to the head office.

It's gonna be...

Arkansas/LSU
Arkansas/TAMU
Arkansas/Mizzou

LSU/Arkansas
LSU/TAMU
LSU/Alabama? Ole Miss?

We still won't have one true rival and that's ok with me.

methinks LSU-A&M's old flame will get renewed and quickly surpass LSU-Ark. But, both will obviously be emotional matchups and annual rivalries.

of course, i lived in Houston 15 years after leaving LSU, attended every LSU-A&M game, dated a few aggies (mea culpa), and developed a healthy hatred for their cult. so maybe I'm biased.

what's your argument against Mizzou? Just curious. They have a big alumni base as far as I know. I'm pretty sure they are the biggest college draw in St Louis, but have my doubts about KC. KC seems to be overrun with KSU and KU fans.

I'm not arguing that the move makes sense financially. A lot of sense. Also, I am aware that they have a better program than MSU. I just have never had any respect for the product on the field. They are always extremely overrated and play soft football.

I've come to the conclusion that Mizzou is coming and I really don't see any better options unless a North Carolina or Virginia Tech came along.

Maybe so...Ark/TAMU have a long history but there's no real hate there. I think the game is also staying at Jerry World. I would love to move the LSU game to Fayetteville.

It's depressing to think that the best we could do is fricking Aggy and Mizzuruh. Thanks a lot UGA, UF, and Cocks.

Meanwhile, the Pac12 is probably gonna end up picking up OU and Texas.

Yes. Please move LSU to Fayetteville now!!! Also, I wish we'd get a different perm East team than USCe. Too damn far to travel on a consistent basis. I'd rather have Tenn/Aub even though they would probably be tougher games year in and out.

They are both pretty legit schools IMO. Yes Florida fricked up the FSU get, but it is what it is.

Do we really need to make the SEC football slate tougher? I think not. Mizzou has not exactly sucked at football, either. Weren't they all the way up to #2 ranked a couple of years ago in late Nov.

Only 6 of the current 12 SEC schools have ever won the SECF championship game. Another 3 have made the game but not won it. 3 have never made the game.

The SEC football power will remain with the six. I am sure the other major conference football champions will be a six or less club.

Why is an SMU fan even posting here? Shouldn't you be on the CUSA boards?

Everybody thinks that A & M is a great fit, and the SEC has been after us for 25 years. Missouri is certainly a more recent thought, and there are lots of other options out there, but I trust the Slive to make the right decision. Wow, that's very cathartic, actully trusting a conference commissioner...
