Ralph, reading the Trib through the season, the shine wore off after the MSU game. I think his honeymoon ended in October. Meanwhile, fan base is numb. I don't think many would care if he left.

I agree. The contract extension didn't help. I have a feeling that Reusse, Souhan, and Scoggins are waiting to pounce.

Minnesota wasn't that impressive this year. If they can improve next year, I'm sure he'll get more looks.

Yep. He will need to prove that he can turn that program around before any major college gives him a shot now. It's sink or swim for him big time! He doesn't need to get them into the playoffs but a 8-4 or 9-3 type of season would get it done for him. That will be a big task at Minnesota.

Kill and Claeys did this easily before he walked in the door at Minny. It's not THAT tough in the BIG West. Couple that with the fact that they rarely ever play good OOC games, them going 5-7 this year was a big disappointment.

You can use the new system, new coaches excuse for only so long. I think its hard at the P5 level for the "little engine that could" type coaching to work. He was riding a good schtick and 2 SR leaders on Offense to that good season last year.

I don't doubt he's a good coach but in the MAC, you're basically playing teams week in and week out that are just as talented as you so the better coaches shine through. At the P5 level, you're going to play 3-4 power programs every year with good coaches and have to overcome larger talent and coaching discrepancies than you've ever seen.

That's the biggest change and adjustment for him.

The RTB schtick isn't as fun or as motivating if you're losing.
