Why is there no more buzz about Mike Yurcich?

GTN or tigerbaitlawyer, any word on if he has interviewed with LSU?

His name has been mentioned but nothing will come of it. Many believe he would be a one year test trial. He's sure to get a head coaching gig fairly soon

Everybody is having flashbacks of Orgeron being hired. I'm scared. We're scared. If Ensminger is hired LSU may not be back to where we want it for a long, long time. If I wake up tomorrow and see Ensminger is hired I will cry.
Jk but dear god don't hire the grandpa..

He's 1 year older than Gilbert who's 39. Why is it assumed that he would be a head coaching candidate after only 1 year as OC?

IDK man. Great question, though! I would like to know that too but that's what I've been hearing/reading day

Ok, so he apparently interviewed for Auburn's OC position last year and then took his name out of the running. I also found that he was on Tulane's short list for HC position 2 years ago and UTEP's HC position last year.

Because it's unlikely he leaves OSU and Gundy who pulled him from obscurity and gave him his big break. He is very loyal to Gundy for that reason. If OSU wants to keep him, they have the financial resources to do so.
He could possibly want the bigger stage of the SEC but he would have to believe he has a better chance of competing for bigger titles and advancing his career.
I would also think that whoever O hires will have to run an offense that is balanced. Does Yurcich's or Gilbert's offer more of the balance that O wants.
