As I've posted elsewhere, he and Dorean (HC) did not see eye to eye. Canada was doing well with what State has talent wise. New OC numbers were down this year. State put up over 40 on Clemson last year when Clemson made it to the Natty. Dorean still hC, just was looking for scapegoat.

From what i have been able to dig up, it was because he was constantly looking for other jobs and NC State got tired of it.
which is great, not many will pay more than LSU but he will likely be lokoing for HC if he has a decent year but really, who wouldn't.

People were calling for DD to be fired. Another lack luster season. Lots didn't think Canada didn't get his playmakers involved enough (J Samuels). DD had to make a change or it was going to be him.

An NC State article I read also mentioned that Canada was the highest paid coach on staff. I'm sure it was nice for them to free up some cash as well.
