he's recruiting curtis carter, so i think he's shown he's willing to.

As I said before he may be capable of recruiting better talent, but he has not proven he can coach a team made up of super talented players. Those kinds of coaches are rare indeed.

Saban, Meyer and Carroll

There certainly arn't many.
And as good as Saban is at this college level he didn't exactly tear up the NFL. Same could be said with Spurrier & Holtz. Speaking of Notre Dame they tried hiring successful coaches at different levels with little success. Remember Gerry Faust one of the winningest coaches in high school with no success. And who would have thought after his first couple of seasons that one of the most respected coaches in the NFL Coach Weis would not be able to get the job done either.

He was coaching in 2001 when TCU lost 27-24 at home to Northwestern State, then lost by 26 at Tulane three weeks later.
My point: No coach has a spotless resumé..............however, Gary has rebounded nicely from those mishaps, which is why many here are salivating over him............here's to a quick and permanent Les Miles rebound.
