What would happen if a college told their coach

that they wanted to "just talk" to another coach?
Can you imagine:
Skip:"Hey Les, look man, we love you here and everything but we owe it to the school to talk to Bob Stoops to see if he has any interest in coaching here. Like I said, we're completely satisfied with the job you've done and this isn't about you."
Les: "Hey man, I have a contract with LSU and I'm in the middle of recruiting and preparing for a National Championship with my Damn Strong Team! This crap is hurting my team!"
Skip: "Les, Stoops has been our Dream Coach ever since we whipped them like a cheap hooker who stole our wallet. It's no big deal! Like I said, we love you and want you here for a long time."
Les: "If that's the case, why are you talking to him? Also, there's that little matter of us having a contract."
Skip: "Yea...that contract. Well, Les we all know that little piece of paper isn't worth the paper it's written on."

Remember that Auburn pulled something like this on Tuberville and the media blasted them, and, yet, coaches do it all the time with little, or no, backlash. The inmates are running the prison!
