Anybody saying they would be mad about Lane is may get to exercise that anger one day. So be careful with what you're saying about your potential future coach

How do you know he hasn't learned a lot from Saban and improved as a coach. You don't know any more about where he is right now than any other coach out there. Cut it out.

Saban wasn't considered "elite" when hired by LSU. So it can be irrelevant.

it doesn't matter what coach LSU gets there will be be a lot of criticism and name calling by some fans.
there is very little agreement on exactly who is an "elite coach". and I can guarantee you there is a segment of fans on this board that if we don't get THEIR CHOICE they will hate the new guy forever. they will DEMAND a coach that has great offenses. period. this group also DEMANDS a well known coach. hiring a guy not that well known will be a catastrophe.

What we do know is there is no obvious Urban Meyer to OSU like hire this season. So without any real "elite" options I would hope Tigerfans will give whoever it is a chance.
